Tips for using Sitter's maps with Risen3D v2.2 ------------------------------------------------ Sitter's map packs have self contained models and hires textures, in fact you cannot play these maps without them. IMPORTANT: Make sure you have first installed both Risen3D v2.2 as well as the Risen3D model packs 1 and 2 v2.2. You will need a PC with at least a 2GB CPU and a FX 6600 or equivalent to run these maps at acceptable frames rates. - Use the R3Dlauncher to launch the map, making sure all model options are enabled in the R3Dlauncher. - Turn autoaim off. - A good tip to significantly boost frame rates if your graphics card is struggling is to set the resolution to 800x600 windowed, this will not noticeably degrade the graphics but should improve performance. - If your graphics card has less than 256 MB of onboard memory then make sure you check the 'Texture compression' option in the R3Dlauncher. - If you have an EAX compatible sound card make sure you have 3D sound enabled to take advantage of the advanced environmental sounds. - Make sure Vsync is enabled, this will run the game at your monitor refresh rate ensuring much smoother gameplay. - Lower music volume so as ambient sounds can be clearly heard. - Make sure a playlist is not loaded otherwise it will cancel out the author's intended music theme. - Try using Chiv's alternative soldiers and the jDoom alpha packs as alternatives, they look nicer although not necessary.
